Matt Jah Drops New EP ‘Ritmo De La Selva’

Out now, the five track release also includes a remix by Sadhu Sens.

Matt Jah is an up-and-coming organic house/downtempo artist from Italy who drops his new EP via the Baikal Nomads record label.

This is Matt’s second time on Baikal Nomads and his new release also features a remix by Sadhu Sens who is a South African talent that has dropped tracks on leading organic house labels including Cosmic Awakenings and Katermukke.

The four original tracks on this release showcase Matt Jah to be someone who has found the right balance between percussion and atmosphere, as his tracks have a tribal energy that also captures the imagination with an exotic choice of sounds.

Each of the tracks has its own charm and personality, “Espiral” is a joyous track with twinkling synths and sprightly flute sounds. “Indigena” has a brooding intensity with determined percussion and dramatic bursts of indigenous sound.

“Ohm Nay” is a soothing track with plodding rhythms and an enchanting vocal layered with a lo-fi guitar sample. “Orizonte” has upbeat percussion and modulating synths that give the track a trippy atmosphere.

Sadhu Sens’s remix of Ohm Nay closes out the release and it’s a streamlined remix that tames the original’s percussion and draws focus to the vocal while also adding a new bassline.
