Ellen Allien Will Headline 300-Person Trial Rave In Berlin

Running June 13th at Revier Südost, the event will test restrictions that could allow German venues to reopen.

This weekend, Revier Südost will host a 300-person trial event in Berlin that will be headlined by Ellen Allien.

Schedule for Sunday the 13th of June, the party will be the first legal indoor rave since the pandemic began.

Revier Südost is a new venue opened last year that’s been set up by the people behind Berlin’s world-famous clubbing destination Greissmühle.

The pilot event will gather data and provide more information about COVID-19 transmission rates that will hopefully allow a nationwide reopening of music venues in Germany.

Due to the high demand of people interested in attending the event, tickets will be made available through a raffle that will take place today (June 10) at 3 PM CET.

Tickets are free of charge, but those wishing to attend will need to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test or have been fully vaccinated in the least 14 days. Attendees can also show proof of having COVID-19 in the six months, as due to having natural antibodies, they will also be allowed entry.

Opened last September, Revier Südost is a new open-air club located on the shores of the river Oberschöneweide. The venue was opened after Greissmühle was forced to close its doors, and the organisers had to find a new location.

Currently, Germany has restrictions that limit a maximum of 100 people allowed inside an indoor space. It’s also temporarily illegal to sell alcohol between the hours of 12 AM and 5 AM. This event is run in conjunction with the government, and the results of the trial will help the government decide whether it’s safe for their restrictions to be lifted.

The pilot rave will implement the health and safety restrictions and hygiene concepts that are hoped to restrict the spread of COVID-19 and allow for other venues to open provided they meet the required standards.
