THIS.IS.MARGUS Drops New Release ‘Visions of Infinity’

Out via Phobiq, it also features remixes by Mitch de Klein and Kostas Maskalides.

THIS.IS.MARGUS is an up-and-coming Estonian artist whose melodic techno style combines epic synths and driving percussion.

After dropping his first-ever release in March 2023 via SURO Records, THIS.IS.MARGUS follows up with a new release on Phobiq, which is a well-established techno record label from Italy.

“Visions of Infinity” is the solo original by THIS.IS.MARGUS and the release also features remixes by Dutch artist Mitch de Klein and Greek artist Kostas Maskalides.

Mitch de Klein hosts a well-respected radio show on Dutch station, The Boom Room. He also performs melodic DJ sets in nightclubs across Europe and has released music on record labels such as Pig&Dan’s Elevate.

Kostas Maskalides is based in Belgium where he is well known on the country’s club scene. When it comes to production, he has released techno on the likes of UMEK’s 1605 and Spektre’s Respekt, and this remix shows off a slightly deeper, more melodic side to his sound.

“Visions of Infinity” is the original track on the release and it opens proceedings with its fast-paced percussion and dramatic melody stabs that are layered with tense pads. It’s got a cosmic sound which builds with intensity as it progresses to the hands-in-the-air energy of the main breakdown section. Mitch de Klein adds his own slow-building melody synth and a progressive bassline to create a deeper and more atmospheric mix. Kostas Maskalides works in his own bass chords with a rotating pad sound to create a version that is distinctly different from the original.
