Hey Lion, where are you based and how did you first get hooked on dance music?
Hey Guys, it’s a pleasure to meet you. Thanks a lot for the premiere.
At the moment I live in Munich, its a beautiful city but my heart is beating for Ibiza. There I discovered my passion for electronic music at an early age. Fascinated by the atmosphere of the island I bought my first Vinyl at the age of 12. From that moment on I was fascinated by the energy, love and intelligence of electronic dance music.

Who are the people that most inspire you right now in dance music?
It is difficult to generalise. I get inspirations from different genres and try to develop myself without limiting. I like new things, artists that break the rules and create new guidelines.
How would you describe the style of music you’re making? And how productive have you been in the studio during the coronavirus times?
I find it a bit difficult to define a style. What’s noticeable is that, it usually develops into a driving groove with strong punch and gloomy atmosphere. I like to refer to using unexpected elements that are not predictable. I love those moments on the dancefloor when unforeseen sequences make your hair stand on end.
To be honest, not much has changed since Covid-19. I have been in the studio almost every day. For me music is a kind of escape and at the same time a special way of expressing and developing my personality.
What have been some of the biggest highlights from your career to date?
One highlight is well explained with an funny story. I flew to Ibiza to get some distance to my job and studio and spent my Christmas and New Year’s Eve there. I remember the phone ringing around 11:30 and I was asked if I would like to spontaneously play a live stream on Ibiza Global Radio today and if I could be in the studio at 18:30 to record. Of course I was completely unprepared. I had to build a.set, buy a USB stick and improvised completely. It was a great experience and I really enjoyed it.
Other highlights for me were definitely playing Joseph Capriati’s afterparty at Catanias summer closing, an unbelievable afterhour vibe and the most energetic crowd I have ever seen before.
But my absolute highlight this year was the finishing of various tracks I have been working on for the last years and the following first release at Salomo Recordings.
Talk to us about your latest release on Salomo and who’s been supporting it?
Due to the current situation it is not to be expected that the tracks can be played in clubs or festivals, so I did not calculate with a strong feedback.
What a great feeling, that artists like: Richie Hawtin, Joseph Capriati, Marco Carola, Malandra Jr, Rey & Kjavik supported my music at the end.
The label is really up and coming in Berlin, how did you get introduced to the guys?
A very good friend of mine introduced us. The guys are doing a great job and I can’t imagine a better first release.
Tell us about your DJ setup when you’re performing. Any plans to perform live?
I prefer for Dj set a Xone 92/96 and 4 linked Cdjs 2000/NXS2. I love to play with several decks at the same time and send the audience on an unexpected journey.
I have enough projects to create live set at the moment, but honestly I’ve never gone deeper into it – maybe something for the future(!)
Do you have any other releases planned for the future that you want to share?
Not at the moment but i can say there is more music coming.
