Luciano Collaborates With Lulu Gainsbourg On New Remix Release

The two-track release is out now on Why Music.

Luciano has remixed two tracks by pianist and songwriter Lulu Gainsbourg.

Lucien Nicolet, best known as Luciano, has remixed many legendary artists – from DJ Pierre to David Morales and Kevin Saunderson to Model 500. After a couple of decades, Luciano remains one of the best DJs in the world, according to fans and critics.

However, eyebrows were raised when Luciano decided to rework the two tracks from the album Replay (2021) by Lulu Gainsbourg. One of the biggest names in underground dance music, reconstructing works of one of the finest French musicians, composers, and actors turned out to be a dream come true for countless fans of both styles of expression. Lucien “Lulu” Gainsbourg is the son of Serge Gainsbourg, the most famous chansonnier of all time. Nonetheless, the French pianist and songwriter made a name for himself regardless of the colossal shadow of his father. Despite his god-given talent and cultural background, Lulu first studied at the Paris Conservatory of Music. Later on and then continued studying film scoring and contemporary writing and production at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, sharpening his skills for his outstanding artistic impact. Lulu’s collaborations with Scarlett Johanson, Melanie Thierry, Vanesa Paradis, Johnny Deep, Iggy Pop, and Shane MacGowan gave attention to his work by the media and admirers across the continents.

The multi-award-winning Luciano and Lulu are renowned artists, and each represents the elite in their genre. No doubt – the new versions of Opening and L’enfance appreciate originality and artistic integrity but catapult the material into the dancefloor-friendly field. Swiss precision and Chilean temperament Luciano brought to the table made every string in the fabric count, making the 20-minute running time of the release an exciting journey.
