Ingrid | Flow Techno 44

She is an Italian DJ who has made a splash on the European techno scene with her high energy sets.

In addition to playing in clubs, many also know Ingrid’s online vinyl-only sets, where she gets to showcases her full skill set with FX tricks, chops and seamless mixing.

Having played DJ sets everywhere from Bucharest to Ibiza, she is also a talented producer whose music can be heard on labels ranging from Frankyeffe’s RXC to Simina Grigoriu’s Kuukou Records.

Not only has Ingrid recorded us an exclusive mix, but she has also taken the time to answer a few questions…

Thanks for recording us a podcast, could you describe the vibe/energy were you trying to capture with your track selection?

Thanks to you guys, I was very excited while I was recording this podcast in the same way I do when I start my set. During this Covid period and in all my I’ve been always trying to pass my energy and my emotions to recreate as much as possible that “dance floor feeling“ that all of us is missing so much.

What’s your favourite track in the mix, and did you play any of your own music?

I believe that all tracks I selected are special but one, in particular, is my own production “Heavy Trip” that was released on vinyl on RXC, Franky Effe’s label. I played some of my tracks in this podcast and I included my new remix of “I’m Falling” by Anabel Sigel, I loved to have a really different concept rather than the Original Mix.

Talking of your own tracks, what’s new in your release schedule, as we would love to know more about your new music?

I just released one month ago a new vinyl on RXC, Franky Effe’s label, named ‘Bullshit EP’.
The release has on the A-side the track ’Bullshit’ and a massive remix made by Mattia Trani, a producer that I estimate so much in the music industry. Besides that, just a week ago I released my remix of her amazing single ‘I Am Falling’ for my close friend Anabel Sigel on her label Exosphere Records. I really loved this work to make a personal techno interpretation of the original.
During the next months, I’ll release a single track on the Rave the Planet Series alongside some others artists and I’m planning a new big release on my label Øpress Recordings. I can’t wait to share more details with you all!

What do you think would be the perfect setting for someone to listen to your mix, and why do you think that would be the best place?

As the clubs are closed right now, I recommend listening to my podcast possibly outdoor perhaps in the middle of nature, for those who can, or by walking or exercising on your own. I think that’s the best way to free the soul and feel without any kind of borders and limitations surrounding yourself only with positive vibes

Who is your personal favourite DJ, and how have they influenced your own style?

I have to be honest, specifically, there is no favourite DJ for me but many who have certainly made a difference throughout history such as Jeff Mills, Emmanuel Top, Ellen Allien, Robert Hood just to name a few. In my personal opinion, every artist personally gives their intellectual contribution to music history and each one creating inspirations for others that have a possibility to become an artistic movement. My main idea and thought, is that everyone contributes with their own personal contribution.

Do you have a message for your fans or anything else you want to add?

Given this situation generated by Covid-19, I can tell people to remain optimistic if it is sometimes difficult but luckily there is music that keeps all of us close to each other and this never leaves us alone. So listen to music and just surround yourself with only positive vibes and you will see that we will come back stronger than before.
