Cereus & Revibe Collaborate On New EP ‘Kula’

The five track release also features remixes by Veytik, Alex Doering and Timboletti.

Baikal Nomads is an organic house record label that is respected for its deep atmosphere and uplifting moods.

The label’s latest release is a collaboration between Cereus and Revibe who are both new producers that are working together for the first time. Cereus has previously featured on Suprematic and Revibe is making his first ever release.

Only one of the tracks is a collaboration, the second is a solo production by Cereus, and alongside the two original tracks there are remixes by Veytik, Alex Doering and Timboletti.

Timboletti is the best known of the remix artists as his back catalogue includes music on labels such as Sol Selectas, Kindisch, Do Not Sit, 3000 Grad Records and Stil Vor Talent. Alex Doering is a Baikal Nomads regular, and Veytik has worked with other imprints ranging from Harabe to Cafe De Anatolia.

“Kula” is the EP’s title track and it kick-starts the release with rising synth chords and rattling organic percussion that create a light and breezy groove with ethereal sounds. Cereus’ solo track “Chandra” is second of the originals and its magical vibe has sweeping pads and a compelling breakdown that leads to a lift in energy when the drums are reintroduced.

Veytik’s remix of Kula drops the tempo and adds chanting vocals that put a whole new spin on the track, which is distinctly different from the original.

Timboletti also remixes Kula, but he takes a different approach with by adding trippy stabs to create a techy version that is reminiscent of early Claude VonStroke.

Alex Doering’s remix of Chandra switches up the original’s synth sounds with alternatives produced by Alex. It also adds a rhythmic vocal sample that enhances the momentum of this spine-tingling version.
