Nico Pusch Shares His Current Inspirations

Hey Nico, where are you based and how did you first get hooked on dance music?

Moin Moin, I am based in the north east of Germany, next to the Baltic coast and I’m dedeicated to electronic music since I was 14 years old.

Who are the people that most inspire you right now in dance music?

Right now, theres a lot of really upcoming artist that I like, for example Ben Böhmer, Martin Waslewski or Felix Gunert wich is a good friend of mine and he surprised me everytime we produce music together.

How would you describe the style of music you’re making and is there any philosophy behind it?

Well I didn’t think about styles and genres when I produce my music. I produce exactly this sound what I want to listen. I’ve never been a ghost producer or a producer who sell his tracks. I just make music for my own. That other people like my stuff is a big thing for me, it’s not self-evident for me. It makes me very happy =)

What have been some of the biggest highlights from your career to date? This can be tracks? Gigs?

I’ve got so many great experience over the last couple of years. It’s hard to pick the best out.
But I’ll give you a little unordered enumeration. I had a lot of awesome shows all around the world e.g. San Francisco, Lima, Singapur, Marrakech, Paris, Brüssel, Bangkok, Miami and so on. And I’ve played in very great Clubs and Festivals like Tommorrowland, WMC, Fusion, Aribeat One Festival etc. But I never stop making music while travelling so released my first album in 2014 and my second album in 2018. In between times there was so many single and remix releases that I couldn’t name it at all. =)

Talk to us about your latest release on Lauter Unfug and who’s been supporting it?

It’s a more electronic sounding EP made for the dancefloor with a great uplifting and melodic touch. It’s been supported from so many awesome artist and I hope it will find his way in the charts =)

The label is really popular in Luxembourg, how did you get introduced to the guys?

I followed the label on soundcloud and beatport and liked the latest releases a lot.
And when Pascal (Beatamines) ask me for a signing I was more than happy and proud

Tell us about your DJ setup when you’re performing. Any plans to perform live?

Yes LIVE or a HYBRID is definitely planned for the future but at now I love playing a DJ set with the standard Setup CDJ’s and DJM. Yes I really enjoy playing with the new DJM NXS2 cause the possibilities are limitless and the sounding is awesome. In case that I will play live in the future maybe I had to switch to the Allen Health option.

Do you have any other releases planned for the future that you want to share?

Oh yes, there’s a lot stuff coming soon in the next months. 5 New EP’s but the details can’t be reveal at the moment. But I can say, there’s something for every taste. Music from the heart Deep House, Electronic, Melodic Techno and Tech House…
