Solee | Flow Podcast 34

The German artist is owner of Parquet Recordings, and featured on other labels including Einmusika and Anjunadeep.

For years the German producer, DJ and live-act Solee stands for quality electronic dance music, rooted between Melodic Techno and deep Progressive House.

Aside from his own renowned label Parquet Recordings, his productions have graced some of the best-known underground record labels in the world such as Bedrock, Suara, Noir Music, Sudbeat and Yoshitoshi to name only a few.

In addition to record in Flow Music this exclusive podcast, Solee also took the time to run through a few interview questions…

Thanks for recording us a podcast, could you describe the vibe/energy you were trying to capture with your track selection?

Thanks for your invitation! With all my mixes I try to create a little journey. A journey accompanied by a mixture of melancholic and positive vibes. I love to use and listen to music which is telling a story. Tracks that inspire emotions and leave long-lasting memories, and tracks that have a stand out element… nothing boring or trivial!

What’s your favourite track in the mix, and did you play any of your own music?

It’s hard to say, all of them are my favourite tracks of this moment. Every single one makes me feel good and has some special meaning for me. I also included my forthcoming new single “Reboot”, which is a very special track for me. The track stands for a new beginning, because I will start a new label in May 2021 called Future Romance, and this track will be on the first release. I’ve been running my other label Parquet for more than 15 years, and I am curious if people will notice Reboot in the mix. 😉

Talking of your own tracks, what’s new in your release schedule, as we would love to know more about your new music?

Reboot is going to be on my next release, and I’m very excited for it to be the launch on my new label Future Romance.

What do you think would be the perfect setting for someone to listen to your mix, and why do you think that would be the best place?

If you want soulful electronic music, then I think you can listen to this mix in almost every situation and setting. Perhaps when you are at home, and you want to dance and dream for a bit. Or when you’re driving in the car, and need a proper soundtrack for your trip. Could even be when you need exciting music for your little beach party while dancing into the sunset. Personally, I think the beach could be the best place if you have the opportunity, at least for me at the moment… I’d love to have a little beach party, and dance into the sunset! 😉

Who is your personal favourite DJ, and how have they influenced your own style?

To be honest, I haven’t heard a lot of DJ sets lately. Usually, I enjoy DJ sets at clubs and festivals, but during these times it’s unfortunately not possible for those due to COVID-19. I can’t say I have a favourite DJ, but I’ve heard a lot of good DJs over the last few years. Some are already well-known, but others all very good resident DJs. The diversity is huge, and I like this development within the scene.

Do you have a message for your fans or anything else you want to add?

Stay healthy, be patient, believe in the good, and hopefully see you soon on a dance floor!
