Budakid makes a return to Watergate Records with a stunning two track EP of melodic house/techno made in collaboration with Nordfold.
Amsterdam based Nordfold is an exciting new talent who joins Watergate Records following previous outings on influential record labels including Click Records and Einmusika. He has also collaborated with Budakid on labels such as Stil Vor Talent and Anjunadeep.
This is the first time Nordfold has featured on Watergate Records, but Budakid is following up on a previous release he made in collaboration with Matthias Meyer plus a solo track he contributed to one of the imprint’s compilations.
Originally from Holland but currently living in Berlin, Budakid is well-known for his solo outings on Guy J’s Lost & Found and Sasha’s Last Night On Earth.
“United” opens the release with old school synth sounds playing poignant melodies while epic pads lift the track with their gliding tones. Pushed forward by hypnotic percussion rhythms it’s got a mesmerising vibe full of emotion.
“Aika” is the second track on the release and it’s a techy cut with acid tones and trippy effects that create a dark but psychedelic mood. Driven by a pulsating bassline it’s tailor made for a club environment.
