Sónar Announces Two New Barcelona Festivals For 2021

Running consecutively between October 27th and 30th, both hybrid events will have in-person and online activities.

The in-person festivals will be held at the multidisciplinary Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB).

There will also be online content produced in collaboration with international partners based in cities from around the world.

These hybrid festivals combining online and in-person events will run consecutively. The first event running between the 27th and 28th of October, and the expanded second running between the 29th and 30th of the same month.

Both of these Sónar events will be themed around exploring the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in music-making.

The events will feature music and numerous stages showcasing live performances, talks, debates and demonstrations.

Over 60 activities will take place across the two hybrid festivals, with the majority of them being in-person.

Istanbul’s edition of Sónar is also planned to go ahead on the 2nd of October and its flagship event hopes to return to Barcelona in June of 2022.
