Ken Ishii is an artist who has great historical relevance to the techno genre, and we are honoured to have him provide an exclusive podcast
Dropping his first release in 1993, many know Ken Ishii as the artist who pioneered techno in Japan and the surrounding areas of Asia.
Having been a DJ and producer since the relative infancy of techno he has seen the genre evolve from a tight knit community into the global phenomenon it is today.
In 1998 the official theme music for the Winter Olympics TV coverage was produced and written by Ken Ishii, which was not only a great achievement for him as an artist, but it also helped expand the genre to new audiences who had previously never heard techno music.
Along with his releases on many other labels such as Tronic and Hearthouse he also runs his own label 70Drums.
One of Ken Ishii’s most recent releases was a single he dropped on Paula Cazenave’s Combine Audio and titled “Diode” that can be purchased from HERE
