Defected Records Event ‘Glitterbox’ Announces 2023 Australian Tour

The tour starts in Melbourne on January 20th and has five dates finishing in Perth on January 28th.

Headliners include Simon Dunmore, Natasha Diggs, Melvo Baptiste, Late Nite Tuff Guy and Dr Packer…

Glitterbox is a touring club event that in 2023 will be returning to Australia for the first time since the pandemic.

The event has close links to the Defected record label after being founded by Simon Dunmore who until recently was head honcho at both brands.

Simon Dunmore in 2022 announced his retirement from the music industry so this is expected to be his last time playing in Australia, which makes this tour particularly special for Aussie fans of house music.

Not only is Simon Dunmore a skilled DJ but he is also a tastemaker who signed and helped develop some of the biggest house tracks in the world such as ‘I Can’t Get Enough’ by Soulsearcher, ‘To Be In Love’ – Masters at Work, ‘Get, Get Down’ – Paul Johnson and ‘Another Chance’ – Roger Sanchez.

Also playing as part of Glitterbox’s Australian tour is Natasha Diggs whose online vinyl only DJ sets helped her go viral. Her eclectic style is a mind-blowing mix of disco and funk with the occasional curveball thrown in from other genres such as hip hop, soul, funk, latin, rock, house, reggae, Afro-Brazilian and beyond.

Melvo Baptiste is one of Glitterbox’s most popular DJs and is the host of Glitterbox Radio which is syndicated worldwide via 60+ different stations. His style includes music from genres such as soul, rare groove, funk, disco and house.

The event also features special guest Australian DJs, Late Nite Tuff Guy and Dr Packer. Late Nite Tuff Guy is one of Australia’s biggest musical exports, as his spellbinding funk, soul and disco style sees him regularly get booked to play large events across the world. He also DJs regularly in Australia where he is beloved by his adoring local fanbase.

Dr Packer is a UK artist who now calls Australia his home. He still tours Europe regularly but also has a large Australian following who adore his taste in classic soul, funk and disco records.

The tour starts in Melbourne on the 20th of January, before going to Auckland on the 21st, then a mid-week stop off in Sydney on Wednesday the 25th of January.

It then rounds off the following weekend in Brisbane on Friday the 27th of January and Perth on Saturday the 28th.
