Betelgeize collaborates with Volen Sentir, Kermesse, IKVA and more on stunning organic house album, “Serokariy the Pigeon and Skypark”

The seven track release is out via, It’s Good To Be A Tree.

Out now is a new album by Betelgeize that has seven collaborative tracks featuring contributions by AIWAA, Daniel Hokum, DIBIDABO, Kapchiz, Volen Sentir, Kermesse and Valique.

It’s a vibrant and thoughtful album that ranges between organic and Afro house. All of the tracks also have stunning vocal performances by African singer IKVA.

What makes this album, Serokariy the Pigeon and Skypark so unique, is that it’s written to be a soundtrack for a fairy tale that Betelgeize wrote about a fictional pigeon who goes on an adventure following a visionary dream. It’s a nice album that has a charming concept that links adult music to a child friendly story. It’s a slight shame that there isn’t an accompanying storyboard of images, but the music itself and the album’s sleeve art does a good job of painting a mental picture of the magical tale unfolding.

Betelgeize

Betelgeize is an accomplished producer who is also well respected as a DJ, and he is at the centre of a big community within the organic house scene, which has links to events such as Burning Man. This release comes via It’s Good To Be A Tree, which is Betelgeize’s own record label.

Lots of the artists who collaborated on Serokariy the Pigeon and Skypark have previously worked with It’s Good To Be A Tree. Lots of them have also released their music on other prestigious outlets including the likes of Anjunadeep, All Day I Dream, Sol Selectas, and many others of equal note.

Giving more information about the music and the fairy tale’s soundtrack, Betelgeize said: “This album is a soundtrack for a fairy tale I wrote about a pigeon who lives in a beautiful park in harmony with himself and others. One day, the pigeon has a dream, which gives him a premonition that he can find wealth if he goes on a dangerous adventure. So, out of joy, through doubts and mysticism, we get into a dynamic and vivid journey of a pigeon, in which he meets other animals that vary between kind and dangerous characters. The music accompanies the story at every stage, and each chapter has its own track to express its mood and feeling. The first track symbolises a peaceful life in its mood, then the second track is representing doubts and mysticism. Tracks 3 and 4 are dynamic, because the adventure actually starts. First, a bold but unsuccessful attempt to fly over the mountains, then in a group of other animals he uses a bridge to cross a steep gorge. 5 is about falling in love, and 6 is about the main character being captured, then the last one resolving the adventure with a happy ending after he escapes captivity.”
