UMEK’s 1605 closes out 2021 with a mixed artist EP in the peak time style the label has made its trademark.
Featuring tracks by Rebel Boy, Julien Earle, Belocca and Subject32, the EP is a blend of label favourites and fresh blood.
Belocca is new to 1605 but is an established artist from Budapest in Hungary who is known for top-selling tracks on his own label Mainground Music, along with other imprints such as Fe Chrome.
Julien Earle and Rebel Boy have both been regular features on 1605 in addition to other labels such as Respekt Recordings. Rebel Boy’s last release on 1605 was a top 10 selling track on Beatport for many weeks, and this is his first release on the label since then.
Subject32 is a brand-new artist who is making his first-ever official release with a track on this EP, and working with a prestigious label such as 1605 is a great way to kickstart a career, so we are very excited to hear more from this new talent.
Rebel Boy’s “Pyschosis” opens the release with its brooding suspense and dark atmosphere underpinned by thundering percussion. Next up is ‘Chaos Physics‘ by Julien Earle, which is a stripped-back cut that builds tension as it leads towards the crescendo of the epic breakdown.
The pulsating groove and rattling percussion of Belocca’s “Oscillate” is third on the EP, and Subject32’s “First Contact” closed out the release with its driving percussion and cinematic breakdown.
