We are super excited to have this exclusive mix from Steve Bug who has also taken the time to run through a few quick questions…

Thanks for recording us a podcast, could you describe the vibe/energy were you trying to capture with your track selection?

Since clubs are closed, I tried to come up with a mix, that is suitable for listening pleasure only, as well as for a little dance work out at home. But as usual, I started with one track and took it from there track by track. I am very happy with the result. The mix goes through various styles, yet feels like one piece.

What’s your favourite track in the mix, and did you play any of your own music?

I don’t think I do have a fave here, I love all the tracks, and they all work great together as a whole piece. And yes, I did play a remix Langenberg and I did for Vince Watson at the very end.

Talking of your own tracks, what’s new in your release schedule, as we would love to know more about your new music?

I just had a release together with Sven Tasnadi on his Headfire imprint, and there’s a new Steve Bug & Cle coming out on Poker Flat on May 17th. I also just finished a remix for the K.E.E.N.E. brothers label, to be released soon. And I am working on plenty of other tracks at the moment.

What do you think would be the perfect setting for someone to listen to your mix, and why do you think that would be the best place?

As I said above, I think this mix works great in various environments, and I’d love for everyone to find their own place to put it on and enjoy it. To me that’s the great thing about music, it works differently in different places, and for different people.

Who is your personal favourite DJ, and how have they influenced your own style?

I have a few deejays that I admire for different reasons. Laurent Garnier is one of them, his sets have this great energy and the track selection is always incredible. Also Honey Dijon is one of them, again, great track selection and what an energy she is bringing. But there are many others in my top list, like Deetron, Kittin, Cassy, Juan Atkins, Josh Wink to name a few.

Do you have a message for your fans or anything else you want to add?

Just that I hope that people will enjoy the mix, and that I hope to see everyone on the dance floor again soon.

Until then please stay safe and sane.
