Stephan Bodzin is an icon of the melodic techno scene and he is being supported by fellow German artist Luna Semara.
Smalltown is quickly becoming one of Melbourne’s leading inner-city electronic music events and its latest announcement further solidifies its status.
Taking place on January 6th at the Melbourne Pavilion, Smalltown’s latest event welcomes iconic melodic techno artist Stephan Bodzin. The second headliner is Luna Semara who is an emerging melodic techno talent who is making her Australian debut at this event.
Stephan Bodzin is a visionary German producer whose euphoric style of techno helped pave the way for the modern melodic style that’s championed across the world by others ranging from Tale Of Us to Solomun. He has been releasing music for nearly two decades and remains one of the most in-demand electronic music artists in the world. His classically trained musicianship brings a musicality that isn’t always heard in techno and it’s always exciting to have him on Australian soil.
Luna Semara is a fellow German artist who has released her music via Stephan Bodzin’s Herzblut Recordings and also with him on original music. She has also released solo productions on John Digweed’s Bedrock and also collaborated on tracks with Jonas Saalbach. Hotly tipped to be one of 2023’s biggest breakthrough talents, this is an exciting opportunity to see her Australian debut, as she is also a highly skilled DJ who is already well-known on the German scene.
There will also be warm-up DJ support from Gumm, Blakc Dave, Emma Renée, MINA b2b Huey Madden, Mordi, Tyff and Wolftrax.
Melbourne Pavillion is located near Royal Park and it’s an indoor location with a warehouse feel that will match the driving percussion and epic synths of the evening’s music.
Spread across three stages, doors open at 6pm and the event finishes at 1am on Sunday the 7th of January. You can find tickets and more info HERE.
