It’s been another busy week in the world of progressive house, here’s our roundup of 10 tracks that should belong in your collection.
John Cosani – Anibus [Asymmetric Recordings]
Lonya’s Asymmetric Recordings comes in hot again with three amazing tracks from John Cosani. The Argentinean artist has quietly become one of his country’s best progressive house exports and the lead track from this new EP ‘Anibus’ is one of his all time best. Warm, groovy and a bit of a oriental vibe make it unique and perfect for the dance floor.
Danny Lloyd – Arapaima (Navid Mehr Remix) [ICONYC]
Navid seems to be the artist of choice for warm, progressive grooves and subtle but emotionally satisfying melodies and he’s delivered another gorgeous remix here.
Peter Makto & Gregory S – Fagus (Jelly For The Babies Remix) [Sound Avenue]
Jelly For The Babies is quite prolific but no two productions sound alike and he’s taken this track from Peter Makto & Gregory S into deep, driving and emotive territory with great results.
Bonaca – Deep Ocean Colours [A Must Have]
The b-side of Bonaca’s new ‘Ode To Eternal Youth’ EP and it’s just as good as the lead track, tough, techno minded progressive with a trippy flair and real nose for the dance floor.
Chris Cargo – Paragon [Soundteller Records]
Deersky’s Soundteller Records brings back Chris Cargo after seven years of production silence. Once known for his dark, detailed productions on Choo Choo Recods the Irish artist delivers more of that magic with a modern twist on ‘Paragon’.
Michael A – Down So Long [Genesis Music]
Fresh off his Sudbeat EP, Michael returns to his own Genesis Music imprint with two new originals, with ‘Down So Long’ begin the cut of choice. Punchy and emotive it’s sounds like another winner for the Sudbeat crew.
Da Luka – Chiron (Marcelo Vasami Remix) [Dopamine Music]
The Argentinean veteran returns to Nikko.Z’s Dopamine Music with a deep and groovy rendition of Da Luka’s ‘Chiron’. There’s some Nukem and Chab vibes in this one, which for prog house lovers is certainly a good thing.
Johan Mila – Antilope (Nicolas Rada Remix) [One Of A Kind]
Man of the moment Nicolas Rada continues rolling with a deep, percussive take on Johan Mila’s bigger progressive but ‘Antilope’. Trippy and meditative in all the right ways it doesn’t take long to get lost in this one.
Nik Nazarov – Barracuda’s Dance (Greenage Remix) [Clinique Recordings]
Indian artist Greenage brings his unique vision to Nik Nazarov’s ‘Barracuda’s Dance’ with a more complex interpretation. A myriad of atmospheres and textures enlighten the senses throughout and a lively third act brings just as much heat as teh more club oriented original.
