Mixcloud Has Announced A New Livestreaming Feature

The DJ mix platform is allowing pro subscribers to trial the beta version of the website’s upgrade.

Mixcloud has upgraded its service so pro users can live stream on the platform.

Livestreaming works from their web browser without the need for any additional streaming software such as the popular OBS.

Called ‘Mixcloud Studio’, the new feature works in a similar way to how the platform’s going live function already works, but allows a single camera input to stream alongside the audio.

Currently, it’s not possible to have more than one audio or camera input, but that doesn’t stop users from getting an external device or software program, to mix multiple visual streams into one output. Blackmagic’s ATEM Mini switcher is one example of a device which does that.

This upgrade makes it easy to go live from a standard web browser without the need for downloading software, it also simplifies the process for those who get easily confused by the technical side of things. For example, not everyone understands Stream Keys or how to manage various RTMP URLs.

Right now, the new feature is just a beta version that’s only compatible with a Google Chrome browser, and there isn’t a date for when they will expand the upgrade.

For those wishing to try the service, you can watch the video below, and find out how to go live using Mixcloud Studio. There is also more information form HERE.
