Kristian Nairn’s ‘Rave of Thrones’ Tour To Visit Canada and US

Kristian Nairn is coming back to Canada and the US for the continuation of his Rave of Thrones tour in addition to other gigs.

The last four days of April are the dates for the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo and Kristian Nairn is set to showcase his progressive house beats to the festival.

Metro News Calgary conducted an interview with Nairn and the latter explained how DJing is like a journey. It’s about holding the emotions and energy of partygoers and taking it where you want to go through your music. In fact, the Irish musician doesn’t create his sets most of the time. “I go out there, play a song, gauge the reaction, and that’s how I choose the next song,” explains Nairn. That’s a one of a kind experience for listeners considering that there’s spontaneity and rawness.

After the Calgary gig, Nairn will go to various parts of the US as part of his Rave of Thrones tour. Washington D.C.’s A.I. club will host the international DJ on May 4. The next day, he’ll be at Madison, Wisconsin on the decks in Liquid. On May 6, Boston’s Bijou Nightclub will be the destination. In between these events, Nairn will also be attending the Middlelands Festival in Texas, which will be held on May 5-7.

His music

Nairn’s music was described by Wired as a “throwback to the golden days of British house music.” He uses pulsating rhythms and avoids the usual ‘beat drop’ which is often heard in other genres like dubstep. Extended mixes are the weapon of choice for Nairn and in turn, he can keep the energy levels in the venue high.

Kristian Nairn isn’t just your average DJ either, as he holds a degree in music and he’s trained in the classical genre which is then considered and explored as he makes his music. He plays the piano and guitar as well, so don’t be surprised if you hear instrumental elements blended into his tunes.

His role as Hodor

Kristian Nairn has long been DJing, but it was thanks to his role as Hodor in Game of Thrones that helped he become a household name worldwide. After all, GoT is considered as one of the greatest TV shows in recent memory. Its immense following has led to other projects that carry the title including Game of Thrones action figures created by the toy maker Dark Horse as well as other visual mediums such as the Game of Thrones 243 Ways to Win slots game hosted on the recreational casino platform Slingo. Moreover, there were fans of the loveable GoT character who started a Kickstarter campaign to create door stoppers in honor of Hodor’s demise on the show.

As for Nairn, things really took after his newfound GoT fame and also helped him with his passion for DJing. It has opened countless doors for him to share his music.

The DJ/actor admitted that the stint was a life-changer for him. He remarked, “I don’t think there’s anything in my personal life that’s the same as it was before Game of Thrones – all in positive ways. I’m hugely grateful for it.”
