Alex Galvan and BÂBEL (MX) release their new organic house EP ‘Piedras Preciosas’

Out now on Satélite Records

Alex Galvan and BÂBEL (MX) collaborate on their new release, Piedras Preciosas, which is organic house with indie dance influences.

Both of the artists are based in Mexico, where they are at the heart of the thriving North American scene. It is their second time teaming up, following a track they recently released via Sounds of Khemit.

‘Piedras Preciosas’ comes via the Satélite Records imprint that Alex Galvan runs himself. Not only does Alex Galvan frequent his own imprint, he also releases music through the likes of Dialtone Records, Shango Records, and WAYU Records.

BÂBEL are a duo, and it’s a project that combines decades of studio experience with influences taken from their global travels.

‘La Joya’ is first of the two tracks, it has got a dark atmosphere with dubby pads, and dramatic low-end stabs complementing a throbbing bassline. Its tinkling organic melody strings bring contrast to the electronic sounds of the backing track.

‘La Pieza’ has sweeping pads and trippy vocals, underpinned by a rubbery bassline that ripples with waves of modulation. Piano chords and a mystical flute add delicate melody to the shuffling percussion of the bass-heavy groove.
