‘Human Traffic 2’ Could Be Coming Soon

The production team behind the cult clubbing film are looking for private investors.

Human Traffic is a cult classic clubbing film from the UK, which gave a fictional insight into electronic music culture and helped launch the career of actor Danny Dyer.

It was revealed in 2016 that a sequel was in the pipeline, and this week the team behind the film have put out a call on social media for private investors to help fund it.

The original was first released in 1999, and along with being the film debut for much of its cast, it also featured a cameo appearance from Carl Cox who played the psychotic club owner Pablo Hassan.

Originally set on the club scene of Cardiff, the sequel is intended to be split between the Welsh capital and the Spanish island of Ibiza. It’s also expected that Danny Dyer will return to revisit his larger than life, drug-fuelled character Moff.

Justin Kerrigan is the director of the film, and apparently, he is also behind the script of the sequel… assuming they can generate the funds for the follow up to go ahead.

Calling for private investment to ensure the sequel can happen, they have made a call via social media that reads: “The first film wasn’t funded by the British film industry at the time. It was funded by a private investor. Human Traffic wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for independent finance.

We now have letters of commitment from private investors for £250,000 for the production of ‘Human Traffic 2’. (£1M budget),” the post states, “But we still have a way to go with only 8 months left on the Option Agreement for the Rights.

“We are offering 30% returns on all private investments by way of contract. We have an offer of UK/EIRE theatrical distribution, a letter of commitment from Danny Dyer’s agent and an original script written by Justin Kerrigan. The first film was only made possible by private investment; If you want to invest in Human Traffic 2 and be on the producing team please contact: justindeekerrigan@gmail.com
