Danny Avila Collaborates With Heerhorst On ‘The Procedure EP’

The two track release is out now via UMEK’s record label 1605.

Danny Avila is back on UMEK’s record label with another ground-shaking techno release, and this time he is working in collaboration with Heerhorst.

One of Spain’s most respected DJs, Danny Avila is a radio host and headline artist who is well respected across the globe. Originally breaking through as an electro house artist on labels like Spinnin’ Records, he has recently transitioned towards darker and more driving sounds, and this is his third time featuring on 1605.

Heerhorst is a German artist who has featured remixes and original material on 1605, but this is the first time he has taken centre stage with a full EP. He is well known for collaborating with people such as Teenage Mutants, but is also a skilled solo producer. His previous releases have also come via labels such as Alula Tunes and Terminal M.

First of the two tracks, “The Procedure” is a distinctive blend of MC style vocals with raggae undertones and acid synths. The pulsating bassline and fast-paced percussion rhythms create a high-energy groove that carries those lead sounds.

“Dynasty” has a lot of elements similar to the previous track in terms of its bassline and percussion style, but its breakdown is something truly special, and very individual. Fusing vocal chants with thought-provoking spoken word and dramatic sci-fi textures, it’s a techno masterpiece that would stand out in any DJ set.

It’s a very strong release that we are told is already picking up support by people ranging from Christian Smith to Space 92.
