After initially rescheduling, Movement Detroit 2021 is now officially cancelled.

After first rescheduling for May, the event is now cancelled.

Movement Detroit’s 2021 event was first rescheduled to run between May 29th and 31st, but has now been cancelled due to growing concerns linking to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement on Twitter, the Movement organisers have said that in March they will release more information on ticketing options and dates for their future events.

The organisers stated that: “We have been looking forward to reuniting with all of you on Memorial Day weekend, but the ongoing pandemic and state regulations have led us to the painful realization that our beloved Movement Festival will not happen in May 2021.

This is sad news for all who had planned to attend the event in the city that birthed techno, and has been instinctual in the development of electronic music. Understandably crowd safety has to come first, and with the pandemic still a concern, it seems the organisers have been responsible in their decision to approach things with caution.
