Nestled in a magical spot in the middle of the Anglesey Forest, Gottwood Festival has long been one of electronic music’s best-kept secrets; a carefully curated four-day party for real underground heads with a strong community vibe. Returning for the first time since 2019, the Gottwood family can reveal the first wave of artists for their 2022 edition, featuring Helena Hauff, Hunee, Move D, DJ Format, Extrawelt, Peach, Skream, Nicolas Lutz, 2 Bad Mice, Margaret Dygas, Yung Singh, and more. It’s a solid-gold mix of the usual underground royalty with one-to-watch talent, and of course, there’ll be a weighty selection of crews on board to host across the 10 stages at Carreglwyd estate. Gottwood Festival will take place from 9th June – 12th June 2022.
Gottwood Festival has always been a truly independent event for the free-spirited and the wild ones to enjoy the finest in underground music in the most idyllic of woodland settings. After a pause, Gottwood returns with their strongest line-up to date, exploring the expanses of electronic music. There’s tripped-out techno from Palms Traxx, Willikens & Ivkovic, and more, who’ll take ravers on a wild ride with powerful sets, then deep, dark and moody explorations from Rhadoo, Margaret Dygas, Sonja Moonear, and others. Cult techno duo Extrawelt also join with their trademark atmospheric electronic explorations.
Expect high NRG anthems venturing through breaks, bass and house, and maybe a few singalong classics from Saoirse, Eris Drew, Hunee, and Peach, each set to bring their unique magic to the enchanted Gottwood lineup. Plus, there are plenty of live acts to catch across the festival days, with Brawther, Children Of Zeus, Max Cooper, Paranoid London, and Soichi Terada just a few of the acts who’ll be going all out with their performances across the weekend. On top of that, there’s so much more for Gottwood’s ravers to look forward to – whether that’s Punjabi garage from the fast-rising star and Daytimers founder Yung Singh, jungle classics from 2 Bad Mice, or what will be an eclectic, joyous deep dive from Nia Archives, there’ll be plenty to discover.
Gottwood’s crews, collectives, and hosts always play a vital part in proceedings, and for this June’s outing, there’s a collection of the usual suspects mixed with new energy and a fresh flavour for the bill. Staples like Gottwaxx, Wigflex, Stamp The Wax, Half Baked and Hit N Run return, with Gottwood newbies Animal Crossing, Adonis, Love International, Plus Ones and Trommel, among others. Trust, Saoirse’s label is also on board.
The community has always been at the heart of the Gottwood ethos, creating an intimate, safe, and secure space for underground music lovers to celebrate together in a beautiful setting in the Welsh Countryside. Each year, Gottwood’s quality line-up has been matched by the stunning country backdrop, plus top-notch production and sound across the show. On-site, there is a range of camping options ranging from standard camping to bell tents and more luxury options.
