Turkey’s Istanbul Will Host A City Wide Music Event

Run by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, it aims to help musicians who have been struggling financially.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality is the decision-making governing body of Istanbul in Turkey, and they have announced plans to transform the city into a giant open-air stage.

Ekrem Imamoglu is the mayor of Istanbul, and on social media gave information about the plans. In the city, there will be more than 100 locations spread across 39 districts where musicians and DJs can perform their art.

#İstanbulBirSahne is an event aimed at providing support to musicians that have been economically struggling during the COVID pandemic. It will also celebrate the Turkish city’s music and culture. Entrance to the events will be free.

Social distancing along with other health and safety measures linked with the pandemic will be set under the supervision of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

This city-wide event is the first comprehensive and concrete step towards reopening the city’s music sector which has been hit hard by the COVID pandemic.

The event will turn all parts of Istanbul into a live music scene, and artists who wish to perform can apply HERE
