Nina Kraviz invites Solomun to remix her hit track ‘Skyscrapers’.
Following Nina Kraviz’s dynamic new sounding single, ‘Skyscrapers’, the Siberian born globetrotting DJ and hit-maker now enlists the mighty Solomun to deliver an immersive reworking of the original.
Riding high off his first album in eleven years, ‘Nobody Is Not Loved’, that saw his single ‘Tuk Tuk’ take over the airwaves, landing on BBC Radio 1’s B-List, and endless support from club and radio DJ’s across the globe.
Mladen Solomun takes this synth spangled single into his own, deeper, and more experimental territories. An expansive seven-minute arrangement, primed for peak time sets emerges, with a capacious introduction that slices and dices Nina’s vocal work across undulating TR-909 toms, shimmering rides and a firm, rolling kick drum that carries us towards a build of overheating, arpeggiated oscillators and mind-altering time-stretched effects that delight the inner raver.
Also included is Nina’s spellbinding original; a dreamy, melancholic piece, that mixes hooky beats with dazzling vocals. An alt-leaning offering that still stays true to her electronic background, combining dancefloor tailored beats with melodic pop sounds and lyrical vocals, “Skyscrapers” showcases Kraviz’s true production talent and ushers in a new style to her usual techno leaning sonics, with it landing as the first single from an upcoming EP, which will be released later this year, and a full-length album to follow in 2022.
