A limited release version of Röyksopp’s album ‘Melody A.M.’ recently sold for a whopping $8,450 on the Discogs website.
There are only 100 copies of this special edition version that features cover art by the legendary and secretive UK graffiti artist Banksy. It’s a release that has often been towards the top of the records purchased from the market place within the last sales period.
Other copies of the same release have sold for $11,000 which is up there for being one of the most expensive single record purchases in the website’s history.
Discogs’ latest Top 30 most expensive records list also included music sales of artists such as Led Zeppelin, The Velvet Underground, Vondells, Mötley Crüe, and Metallica.
Most of the other releases in the most expensive records were from genres such as pop, soul and rock, but Röyksopp’s electronic music album from 2001 was the No.1 for grossing the highest payment.
For anyone who thinks they would also like a copy of the 2001 release, then don’t be worried, as there are two other copies still for sale, one in the UK for £17,500, and there is also one in Switzerland for CHF23,000.
