Peter Schumann Drops ‘Deeper Conversations EP’

The two-track release is out now via the Sound of Berlin record label.

Peter Schumann is a Berlin-based DJ and producer whose new release is timeless house with acid synths and deep pads layered over chunky percussion.

Many know Peter Schumann for his residency at the iconic nightclub, Kater Blau. He has also released classic tracks on influential labels like Traum, plus new releases on the likes of Highway Records and Kiosk ID.

A stalwart of the German club scene, he is a well-respected veteran who has a motto of quality over quantity when it comes to releasing his music and his latest release is a two-track EP on Sound of Berlin. Sound of Berlin is a record label that has also released music from the likes Marc Houle, Mike Shannon, Namito and Alinka.

This latest release on the label by Peter Schumann is an EP titled Deeper Conversations. It opens with the track “House Magic” and its poignant chords and analogue bass synth before the bleeping acid of a TB-303. While the synths modulate, the percussion builds until the introduction of jazzy chords and the track unfolds with purposeful precision.

Track two is “Dapé feat. David Dorad” and it’s a stripped-back cut with swelling synths and fast-flowing percussion that creates a groove perfect for the dance floor. Muffled vocal textures add to the trippy atmosphere and the extended breakdown builds suspense before the reintroduction of the percussion lifting things up a gear.

Smooth and expertly produced, this is an impressive release that you can buy HERE.
