Clif Jack Drops New EP ‘Echoes of Tomorrow / Should Do It’

The two-track techno release is out now via Le Club Records.

Veerus & Maxie Devine’s record label Le Club Records drops an imprint debut by Clif Jack.

Le Club Records is the Italian label from the mighty duo Veerus & Maxie Devine who themselves are regular production collaborators releasing on respected labels including Adam Beyer’s Drumcode, Coyu’s Suara and Sam Paganini’s JAM. Their own label project has a steady release schedule of established veterans and up-and-coming talent featuring the likes of Dani Sbert, BARBUTO and Juan Ddd.

Clif Jack is a rising star adding to the devout techno history of Italy and the Padova-based producer already lists Deborah De Luca’s Solamente and Simina Grigoriu’s Kuukou that have released his original music to well-earned fanfare having also received DJ support from Nicole Moudaber and Richie Hawtin.

His new EP on Le Club is a double track offering made up of two peak-time club spinners the first of which is “Echoes of Tomorrow” which uses an accordion-like, swelling tone as the main hook creating prolonged tension. Surrounded by chugging complementary percussion, it’s easy to think that is the whole groove, but the real fun starts at the breakdown as it moves into a spacey, beatless euphoria. Cue the drop of the thundering kick drum at the halfway mark, accompanied by sublime synth notes taking it to incredible new heights.

“I Should Do It” is the second original cut, opting for a stripped-back intro made up of pulsing stabs and a pounding kick drum. Some overlaid, trippy vocals elevate it to a new dimension that is shortly followed by crunching sweeps and a bleeping mania of suspense as the beat disappears. Droning strings are a finishing touch to create added sonic pressure making this another edgy, futuristic, club-ready weapon.
