CircoLoco has partnered with Rockstar Games to start a record label called Circo Loco Records.
Rockstar Games is an American video game company known for developing leading titles such as Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead and Max Payne, while CircoLoco is the Ibiza party brand famed for their parties at DC10.
The new record label will release a compilation album on the 9th of July called ‘Monday Dreaming’, and leading up to that, the imprint will release a series of EPs featuring music from the package.
Spread over a weekly release schedule starting on the 4th of June, each of the EPs will feature tracks from a selection of artists, the first one including a total of five tracks by Kerri Chandler, Seth Troxler, Rampa and Sama’ Abdulhadi plus a Dixon remix of Deichkind.
Rockstar Games has already been integrating electronic music into their games for a number of years. Their Grand Theft Auto series for example has already featured in-game channels with DJ sets by the likes of Moodymann, Palms Trax, Soulwax, The Blessed Madonna and more.
Sam Houser is the Rockstar Games Founder, and giving a statement on the new label he said: “Music is fundamental to Rockstar Games—it’s part of everything we do,” then continued “Partnering with our friends at CircoLoco is part of our ongoing efforts to find new ways to bring the very best underground music to the widest audience possible.”
