Yousef’s event, Circus has been selected by the UK government to run two events that will test COVID safety after lockdown restrictions are lifted.
The research program will in total host 19 experimental events ranging from sport to club nights. Liverpool was chosen for the city to host many of these events between April and May 2021.
Circus and Yousef are both an influential part of Liverpool’s electronic music scene. The two events hosted by Circus will each have a 3000-person capacity, and will individually be held on April 30th and May 1st at Bramley-Moore Dock Warehouse.
This will be the first time that any major indoor events are run on the UK mainland since the lockdown restrictions began over a year ago.
There are some ticketing restrictions, as all guests must live in the Liverpool area. A negative COVID test result is also required for entry, and attendees will be tested again after the event to monitor any potential transmissions of the virus.
Apart from Yousef, other DJs playing at the event have yet to be announced, but an all UK line up is assumed.
According to the road map for reopening of the UK that’s been outlined by Boris Johnson, pubs and shops will reopen on April 12th, but night clubs won’t open until June 21st.
