The Dutch modular techno sensation is giving away four thousand copies of his debut EP ‘Floaty Things’ to mark the launch of his brand new label ‘Hiss & Hertz Records’
All things considered, it’s been a remarkably productive year for multifaceted Dutch artist and modular synth maestro, Colin Benders. Internationally renowned for his immersive and virtuosic live performances at some of the most esteemed venues and festivals across Europe (from Berghain, Gashouder, Melkweg and De Marktkantine to HYTE, Awakenings, Loveland Lake and Mysterland) the sudden pause in touring inflicted by the outbreak of Covid-19 earlier this year has since allowed Colin to enjoy an extended amount of time on studio work and other related musical endeavours.
Launching his burgeoning Modular Mayem community on Discord back in March to hugely popular uptake, and with a remarkable 300-plus hours of original music recorded since the beginning of lockdown in The Netherlands, Colin now looks to give something back to his dedicated fan-base and the modular community at large, by offering up a staggering 4000 vinyl copies of his debut EP, Floaty Things.
A stunning three-part package, complete with over forty minutes of hypnotic modular soundscapes and luscious analogue experimentation, Floaty Things is the first extended body of work to be released under the Colin Benders moniker, and is the eagerly-anticipated debut EP on his newly formed imprint, Hiss & Hertz Records. Available exclusively on vinyl, with shipping due in early November, you can pre-order your free copy via the Hiss & Hertz official website here.
Speaking to his community about the label launch and the huge vinyl giveaway, Colin said:
“2020 has been a wild ride from the very start, but thanks to you all I will forever be able to look back on a very positive bubble in an otherwise deeply unsettling year. I can’t thank you all enough for that! This giveaway may very well end up ruining me but I don’t care. I want you all to have this record. And if you haven’t been a part of the Modular Mayhem community and you’re hearing about it for the first time, you deserve something nice too.”
