Kling Klong’s recent releases have been nothing short of sensational and the trend continues with their latest VA mini album “A Kind Of Kling Klong Vol 11”.
It’s been almost 5 years since the last edition of “A Kind of Kling Klong” and we’re glad to see it again.
First up is Stefano Noferini & Danniel Selfmade who need no introduction. Solearics is a solid tribal groover packed with quirky synths and vocal snippets.
Martin Eyerer & Ackermann feature next with “Sine”, once again we have two artists who are loved by many for this consistent and quality output. This one’s more industrial and has a decent old school sounding techno vibe that feels like stuff released back in the day on Marco Carola’s label Zenit.
Montreal based Tech House master Ellroy is next, who’s been increasing hitting the mark since 2014, with releases on Toolroom, Moon Harbour, 303 lovers and many more. If you’re a fan of Elloy this title “Opium” wont disappoint as its full of his signature style dub groove rhythms, deep fat rolling groove that keeps you hypnotically locked in.
CJ Jeff features next with a great house influenced piece. CJ is a Greek based artist and one that has also been quite prominent over a period of years. Many will know his prior releases on Bedrock Records as well as previously on King Klong. He always delivers quality work and this is no different. Its very groove driven with retro style drum machine patterns, vocals that intensify the vibe and an overall NY esque club presence.
Martin Eyerer & Ackermann hit the spot on their second track “Sunday Monday”. It’s a harder hitting paranoid sounding techno that presents you with the come down feeling, after a banging weekend in a club. Clever stuff.
DWU & GIOC are the final featured artists on this release. Their track “Super Bass” and also includes a “Wade” remix who’s considered quite hot property on the Tech House circuit. Chunky house driven beats, a deep rolling bassline and dope vocals make this one bounce along. Its hard not to nod your head to this.
This is decent enough release from Kling Klong, which covers all bases from the house to techno spectrum. You can pre order here
