What’s In Your Box: Chicola

With Chicola’s ‘Drosera’ EP out this week on Tenampa Recordings, we take a look at his favourite tracks of the moment in the latest edition of What’s In Your Box?

1. Chicola – Drosera [Tenampa Recordings]

This is a track of mine which I really love, I’ve tried to bring groovy vibe with heavy percussions and some dark energy, the name Drosera is carnivorous plants which I felt when I heard that breakdown.

2. Khen – Epidemic [Lost & Found Recordings]

This is one of my the best tracks in my sets, Khen is without a doubt one of the best producers around, and this track is one of those tracks you will play forever, Heavy groove with punch in your face, Masterpiece!

3. Third Son – Climb to the Sun ft Haptic [microCastle]

Well, that is top vocal track, it’s breathtaking production, mental journey and goosebumps every time on the dancefloor, super 5 star release from microCastle.

4. Deetron – Endless [Character]

I am a big fan of Deetron, from his very early days on Music Man recordings, This track is dancefloor killer and Deetron surely know how to build up to that point the floor is exploding. heavy gun with Very sophisticated production.

5. Eli Nissan – Frames (Roy Rosenfeld Dub Rework) [Movement Recordings]

Great remix from Roy Rosenfeld of the super cool original Frames from Eli Nissan, I love the vibe Roy brought to this track, very techy very groovy, always doing it on the dance floor.

6. Guy J – Algorithm (Original Mix) [Sudbeat]

Hypnotic Track from the wizard of oz, magic track with so much power in it. Love that wired melodies and dark sounds in it. every time you dropped that track the whole room is like one person, that break in the middle causing a lot of damage on the dance floor .

7. Ruede Hagelstein – Give a Little Slap to Your Soul (Patrick Chardronnet’s Dubby Mix) [City Life]

Killer remix from Patrick Chardronnet. this is Dub Techno at his best I think. Psychedelic vibe, heavy chords, mind blowing journey, last time I dropped that in Tel Aviv the whole place went crazy. this is big!

8. Floating Mind – J’ai Loope Ma Vie [monoKraK187]

Beautiful track , perfect for my sets when I want to go deep and build groovy vibe. it kind of tracks I could play for one hour and still be so interesting.
That Organ’s sound is like endless journey you don’t want to end

9. Vonda 7 – Tough Enough (Pig & Dan Remix) [Lost & Found]

Pig & Dan Delivers their monster touch here , top quality jam , dance floor banger. I also really love the original version from the talented Vonda 7
The main melody is hypnotic and catch you very fast.

10. Chicola & Sahar Z – Hallucinate [Rusted Records]

This track was our secret weapon for some time until we released it. Every time when we dropped it the whole dancefloor got crazy. This track is something Sahar Z and myself really like in our collaborations, It brings out something very psychedelic and yet very groovy.
