Technics turntables are an iconic part or DJ culture, and the industry standard for clubs.
The 1210 model is the flagship for Technic’s turntable range, and the new SL-1210G is the latest version. This particular model is aimed more towards audiophiles, which means it’s designed at hi-fi enthusiasts rather than DJs, but it’s improved audio playback still has all the features DJs need.
It’s being described as a twin sibling to the GAE model that got released in 2020, but the new 1210G features an “iron-coreless direct drive motor, a hybrid encoder for rotational speed detection, using digital and analogue technology to allow for enhanced stability, a three-layer platter with high vibration-damping performance and high-damping silicone rubber insulators to minimise vibrations.”
Talking about their new turntable, Product Manager of Technics Europe, Frank Balzuweit said: “We learned from the huge success of the limited edition SL-1210GAE, which was launched in June 2020 and almost immediately sold out.”
Frank Balzuweit continued: “We realised there was high demand for a ‘regular’ black version of this flagship 1200 Series model. In its striking black finish, the new SL-1210G possesses genuine elegance.”
Being aimed at audiophiles means a high standard of technology, which comes with a price tag to match. So, available from October 2021, the new 1210G will cost £3,499 each.
