Sydney’s ‘The Abercrombie’ Nightclub Is Reopening With A 24-Hour Licence

The Australian venue will launch with a 36-hour party on the 23rd of December 2022.

The Abercrombie is a legendary Australian venue that until it closed in 2014 was a cornerstone of Sydney nightlife.

Still respected as one of the city’s most iconic venues that played host to DJs from across the world, it has recently been announced that The Abercrombie is soon opening its doors once again.

What makes the reopening even more exciting, is that the venue will open with a 24-hour licence, which is something that’s extremely rare in Sydney and many other parts of Australia.

Not only will people be able to dance the night and day away on the dance floor that is fully equipped with a state-of-the-art Funktion-One sound system. The building will be split into three sections including the aforementioned nightclub, a wine bar and shop called Lil Sis and an upstairs cocktail lounge called Casa Rosa.

Solotel is the name of the building/company that hosts The Abercrombie, Lil Sis and Casa Rosa. Elliot Solomon is the CEO of Solotel and talking about the reopening, he said: “There’s a strong sense of responsibility reopening The Abercrombie given that formative memories of generations of Sydney partiers, including myself, were forged here.”

It’s scheduled to reopen on the 23rd of December with a 36-hour party featuring DJ sets by Ayebatonye, Andy Garvey, dameeeela, Mike Who and more.

Michael Rodrigues is the New South Wales government’s 24-hour economy commissioner, and giving his thoughts on The Abercrombie’s reopening, he said: “For those of us who remember it, this announcement brings both nostalgia borne from its history, and excitement now as to its future.”
