Nick Warren has been an influential DJ and producer in the global electronic music scene since the ’90s.
He has an extensive back catalogue of his own music releases spread across some of electronic music’s most iconic record labels. He is label owner of The Soundgarden and one half of Way Out West.
He announced on Twitter that on Tuesday, March 15 at 10 AM he will be auctioning off his extensive vinyl collection to the highest bidders. The post reads: “I’m very excited to announce that my extensive record collection is going to find a new home this spring.”
The online sale is divided into 202 different auction lots that have been split into different genres including electro, ambient, prog rock, soul, trance, trip-hop, and dub.
Talking further about the auction, Nick Warren said: “From my days of being Massive Attack’s tour DJ to my time at Cream, Twilo and pretty much every major club in the world, the collection holds not just my dancefloor records but the extensive collection of Avant Garde electronica I have collected over the years.”
Each lot has varying amounts of records and is estimated to sell for between £50 and £100, but some could easily achieve £200 or more. Nick Warren says that the auction also includes limited edition/collectors’ items such as “one-off test pressings, white labels, the Global Underground classics”.
Some of the vinyl being auctioned includes releases by music icons such as The Smiths, Radiohead, Joy Division, Kraftwerk and Aphex Twin. There are also some club classics lots with timeless records by the likes of Frankie Knuckles, Underworld, Deee-Lite, and more.
