Hi-Fi manufacturer Technics have revealed their new 1200MK7 turntable.
Technics SL-1210/1200 turntable range is widely considered the industry standard for vinyl DJs. For many years the company stopped producing the turntables, but started making them again after the vinyl sales started to rise.
The new model shares all the same features of the 1210MK7 that was introduced in January 2019. The new model comes with a silver finish instead of the 1210 matte black colour.
Both 1210MK7 and 1200MK7 have identical electronics and share the same features, which includes the company’s latest direct-drive motor. Features include an adjustable torque and brake speed plus a new microcomputer that provides increased motor control accuracy for things like scratching/turntablism. There’s also an option to change the motor direction so records can be played in reverse.
The new, silver SL-1200MK7 will go on sale in May 2021 and individually cost around £799.
