Moderat is a collaboration between iconic German artists Modeselektor and Apparat.
They have confirmed an Australian tour in March which will include shows at Melbourne’s Forum on the 10th, Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on the 12th, and Brisbane’s Princess Theatre on the 13th.
The tour is Moderat’s Australian debut and it is a show not to be missed, as they have performed live around the world, playing iconic music festivals ranging from Coachella in America, to Glastonbury in the UK.
Their style has dreamy vocals and melodic synths layered with techno percussion to create immersive tracks that are perfect for the dance floor.
Something of a supergroup, Modeselektor and Apparat are both established artists that on their own, would regularly headline large events across the globe.
Modeselektor is the duo behind Monkeytown Records and they have a style that fuses chunky percussion with quirky synths and heavy basslines. In many ways, they are the German equivalent of The Chemical Brothers, as they have found the perfect sweet spot between the underground and mainstream and are equally respected by both camps.
Apparat is known best for making avant-garde techno with dreamscape synth lines, glitchy sound design and unusual rhythms that are usually sequenced to create stripped-back tracks with lots of atmosphere. He is also a talented vocalist whose gentle singing style adds to the haunting nature of his music.
These are two of the biggest names from Europe’s electronic music scene, and their Moderat project has received critical acclaim across the world.
