Mha iri is a talented techno artist with links to UMEK’s 1605 and Adam Beyer’s Drumcode.
Australian techno fans will likely be familiar with Mha iri after she spent many years living in Melbourne before moving back to the UK. She has since moved back to Scotland in the UK, but this weekend will be playing BLACK NOIR’s event The Flinders in Sydney on March 31st.
Mha iri first made a name for herself on the Australian club scene, as her thumping style of euphoric techno earned her peak time slots at numerous underground festivals and respected club events. Working her way through the ranks, she also started to produce music, landing releases on some respected record labels such as Markantonio’s AnalyticTrail, The YellowHeads’ Reload and Spartaque’s Codex.
Her style is a fusion of thundering percussion and uplifting synth lines which are intertwined with dark atmospherics that give here music a twisted sound. Mha iri eventually caught the attention of techno legend UMEK who signed her to a series of releases on his record label 1605.
1605 helped take Mha iri’s career to the next level and she is now being booked to headline gigs across Europe and other parts of the world. Most recently she also made her debut release on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode and it’s great to have her back on Australian soil, as this is where her career first started.
There is also local support from Bryan Ro, Dave Morales, I-SO, Lestrange, Mark Wildman and Papco.
Doors open at 9pm and the event finishes at 5am. You can find tickets and more info HERE.
