Lorenzo de Blanck returns to Jamie Jones’ record label, Hottrax.
Hottrax drops a new release from Lorenzo de Blanck who is an Italian producer making a return to the imprint with three new tracks.
The first Hottrax release from Lorenzo de Blanck was one of the label’s highlights in 2020 and his return will make many people very happy.
Lorenzo de Blanck is an artist that’s been making waves as an up-and-coming talent for many years and he is already well-known as a DJ in Italy.
His productions have been popular with numerous influential DJs and he has done remixes for Lee Foss’ Repopulate Mars along with dropping tracks on the likes of Saved Records, NONSTOP and Moon Harbour.
Each of the tracks is true to the sound that Lorenzo de Blanck has made his trademark and the EP’s title track “Hey Baby” opens the release with a dark and stripped-back groove. The fizzing lead synth and the female vocal samples add with snare rolls to add upbeat energy.
“Take Me High” is second on the EP and it’s an interesting blend of new-school tech house and old-school disco as it blends sections of a looped disco sample with tribal tech house.
“Central Station” is the release’s third track and it’s a trippy cut making good use of an old Run-DMC sample that’s been layered with a rubbery synth giving the track a subversive, sinking feeling, which is quite cool and unique.
Overall, it is a very cool release that will no doubt be doing the rounds in Ibiza this summer.
