Disco Halal label head Moscoman has joined forces with vocalist Eleonora for his new single ‘Escape’, with additional remix work from Dubfire.
A fresh, modern-day reimagining of 16b and Morel’s progressive house classic, ‘Escape’ combines emotion-tinged synths with Berlin-based vocalist Eleonora’s haunting vocals. Dubfire then steps up with a driving rework, an ideal choice for remix duties given that the original first found fame on his Deep Dish Global Underground Moscow Mix.
The release coincides with Moscoman’s recent move from Berlin to London, where he is set to take up a new Disco Halal residency at Stoke Newington venue The Waiting Room. Kicking off on 3rd July, the run of parties features the likes of Junto Club, Lynks and PVA.
“When I first heard the Global Underground of Deep Dish and this the original track I was completely hooked and knew that this is something that will be part of my life,” Moscoman enthuses. “I’m just really lucky that I arrived at a spot in my career where I can release a cover of this myself and to connect to Dubfire and him doing a killer remix for it made it all the perfect package.”
Born Chen Moscovici, Moscoman spent most of his life in Tel Aviv and released on labels such as Because, City Slang, Moshi Moshi, but it was a move back to Berlin a couple of years ago which really pushed things forward. “It was a great place to step back and overlook my whole life,” he explains. “I didn’t have time before to sit down and think where I was going. Now I see the wider picture.”
A stunning, club-ready rework of a cult classic, ‘Escape’ is the perfect way for Moscoman to usher in his new residency.
