Danny Avila is a Spanish artist who just dropped a thumping new techno release via UMEK’s record label, 1605.
It’s a thundering release that shows the harder and more driving side of Danny Avila who had previously been known for his music on the likes of Spinnin’ and Armada. He already hosts the internationally respected radio show Mainstage Techno and this is his second time releasing via 1605.
The release titled ‘Notre Dame’ features a solo original by Danny Avila plus a thundering remix from Amazingblaze, who is a rising star closely linked to Charlotte de Witte and her record label KNTXT.
First up is the original mix of “Notre Dame” which opens with a rumbling bassline that’s pushed by the pounding of a thickset kick drum. Rattling hi-hats and dramatic bursts of texture fill the track with intensity as it builds towards the euphoria of a spine-tingling breakdown with sensual vocals. The percussion hits back in later where an operatic-vocal lifts the intensity to the next level.
Second is Amazingblaze’s remix of “Notre Dame” and it’s a ferocious version with breakbeat percussion added to create an old-school breakdown, which contrasts with the raised tempo of his four-to-the-floor remix. It makes good use of the original’s operatic vocal to create an epic version with a massive sound.
