Australia’s Blake.08 Drops Debut Solo EP Via Anjunadeep

The three-track release titled ‘High Fidelity’ is out now.

Blake.08 is an Australian artist from Sydney who is a respected DJ and talented producer known for his deep and immersive style of house music with groove basslines.

Already well-known within Sydney’s underground club scene, he has played events such as Civic Underground and Heaps Good along with many other of the city’s most respected events.

Making moves to get exposure on the international scene, Blake.08 recently debuted on Anjunadeep with an impressive three-track EP titled ‘High Fidelity’, which has already picked up support from tastemakers including Solomun, Lane 8, Eelke Kleijn and Ben Pearce.

The release utilises an array of live and electronic instrumentation throughout the EP and opens with the lo-fi percussion and dusty groove of “Supermonster”, which has deep piano chords and bumping percussion layered with atmospheric vocal stabs.

Second is the EP’s title track “High Fidelity” and it’s got a timeless sound with bleeping analogue melodies, sweeping pads and trippy vocals layered over chunky percussions. It’s got an uplifting vibe that is reminiscent of others such as Bicep.

“Star Sender” closes out the release with a tribal percussion loop and funk-fuelled bassline forming a foundation for melodic synths that give the track an epic sound.

Overall, a well-rounded release with an eclectic mix of styles combine to create a melodic house/techno release with a bit of a twist.
