WaterBear College of Music is a learning institution based in the UK city of Brighton, and they have just announced a new scholarship awarded by iconic DJ Carl Cox.
People can apply from any part of the world and study online via remote learning or attend classes on campus if they would rather study in person.
In addition to the scholarship to study on their BA (Hons) in Electronic Music & Business, the winning applicant will also receive free music equipment valued at £15,000 to help with their studies.
BA (Hons) in Electronic Music & Business will run at WaterBear College for the first time starting September 2021. The institution also runs other music courses including BA (Hons) Career Musician, and MA Music Entrepreneur.
Smaller class sizes, one-to-one mentoring, and work experience are all parts of the Electronic Music & Business course, which promises to launch students into a career immediately after the degree.
Carl Cox is of course someone who sits at the top of the electronic music industry, and in addition to being a DJ, he has also runs record labels, and has a hand in running events. So whoever wins his scholarship should be truly honoured to have the support and backing of such an influential figure within the industry.
Giving a statement about the course and scholarship, Carl Cox said: “I’m really excited to support WaterBear in providing this scholarship award and contributing to someone’s career journey in music. Hopefully, this will help the creative process and lead to some great new electronic music that we can all enjoy. I’m really looking forward to hearing some exciting new music from them.”
