Carl Cox and Eric Powell are playing an epic eight hour set together at the Royal Randwick in Sydney, Australia. It’s an epic daytime set taking place this Sunday the 12th of February, running from 12pm to 8pm.

The tunes might be a little different from what many would normally expect from Carl Cox who is often known for playing techno. Carl Cox is a very eclectic DJ who has decades of music knowledge and a very deep record collection, and this set promises to orientate around soul, funk and disco.

Carl Cox needs little introduction as one of the world’s most iconic DJs, and Eric Powell is a veteran DJ who has a career spanning back to the ‘90s. Eric Powell is the owner of the legendary Bush Records which has released many iconic tracks by artists ranging from Felix Da Housecat to Dave Clarke. Carl Cox was one of the first artists to feature on Bush and he has been a close friend of Eric Powell’s for at least two decades.

Mobile Disco is a brand that Carl Cox and Eric Powell set up for their shared DJ sets, and it’s an event that has run parties in cities across the world in places ranging from Bali to New York. Talking about their Mobile Disco events, Carl Cox and Eric Powell said: “Why did we call it ‘Mobile Disco?’ it was going to be a one-off party for friends and family. We also thought a ‘Mobile Disco’ was the last thing people would expect us to do. Now more than ten years later, we have been fortunate enough to set up ‘Mobile Disco’ in some fantastic, picturesque locations around the world, playing the music that has influenced us from when we were kids to now.”

Alongside the guy’s DJ set, there will also be live percussion and a trumpet player, plus dancers and stage performers adding to the atmosphere of the party.
