Wednesday 19th October – Clean The Beat at Westerpark
This year’s clean-up takes place on Wednesday, October 19th. Participants will set off on foot for a 1-hour scavenger hunt-styled cleanup in Westerpark. Join solo or as a group, all participants will be set into teams and will seek variable types of trash to earn points & prizes. The cleanup will then be followed by a happy hour with DJ sets performed by eco-warrior DJs Joep Mencke & Unders at Bar Kantoor. Get tickets here: https://tktp.as/EHKSPG
Last year’s event garnered over 80 participants from around the world who collectively removed 440 liters of waste by plastic fishing from the canals. Making this unique cleanup experience even more special, guests were entertained with live DJ sets played by Sam Feldt, SHARE, & Parallelle.
Thursday 20th October – #PlasticFreeParty Compilation Launch at The W Hotel
Bye Bye Plastic will cut the red ribbon on the release of their first #PlasticFreeParty Compilation, with a party hosted at the luxurious W Amsterdam in partnership with local event producers Levantine House. Curated by Paris-based DJ & production duo Chambord, the compilation consists of 14 unifying tracks contributed from the likes of BBP’s eco-rider artist community including: BLOND:ISH, Shiba San, Vander & Deer Jade, Elif, Urmet K, Zigan Aldi, Luzi Tudor, Chambord themselves & more. Built as a motivational call for action in our scene, #PlasticFreeParty will help raise funds for Bye Bye Plastic to continue eliminating single-use plastics from our dancefloors.
The event will start with a panel discussion titled “Seriously Sustainable: Leaders & Impact Solutions in the Music Scene” with Eli Goldstein (Soul Clap), Elif Tanverdi (DJ), Marc Carey (Evolution Music) & Jef de Vries (The Climate Gig) & moderated by Bye Bye Plastic’s co-founder and Managing Director, Camille Guitteau.
Guests are also encouraged to check out the Green Innovators Showcase featuring sustainability front-runners, where you can discover what “futurism” & “plastic-free” can really mean when put together on a dancefloor. The music program will include b2b sets from 6:30pm-1am. Full lineup & set times HERE.
