D-Nox & Beckers continue a phenomenal run of releases with two summer blockbusters on the mighty Sudbeat.
‘Last Call’ engages the senses with finely-crafted percussion, overpowering bass blasts, nervous synths, and sci-fi effects, before introducing the central arp that provides one of the focal-points for the track. But perhaps what makes ‘Last Call’ most distinctive is D-Nox & Beckers’ bold and imaginative use of vocal sounds, leading to a smile-inducing breakdown and a drop that’s pure ear-candy – it may make all of your ear-teeth fall out, but it’s well worth it. On the flip-side, ‘Second Sun’ also keeps the mood light with warm vocal sounds and trippy bleeps, while a very ‘Teardrop’-esque piano adds just a touch of gothic drama. Bright sweeps and a walking bassline complete the effect, while the breakdown sees D-Nox & Beckers add melodic flourishes that lift the track even further.
This is wonderful summer-wear from D-Nox & Beckers, with both tracks bringing some sonic sunshine into our lives, and ‘Last Call’ being my favourite of the two.
