Thai Techno Artist Nakadia Reveals Her Incredible Story In New Autobiography

Born into poverty, Nakadia now travels the world as one of Asia’s most successful DJs.

Thai artist Nakadia has an incredible story after her humble beginnings in rural Thailand.

Born into poverty, her family lived on less than $1 per day, and as a teenager, she quit school to work go work in a factory near Bangkok.

Eventually, she got a job in an Internet café where she got access to the tools needed to teach herself English.

She met Sebastian Lehmann who is now her manager, and he invited her to Germany where she discovered techno.

Inspired by her trip to Germany, she returned to Thailand, and living in Koh Samui, started to perfect her DJ skills.

After picking up recognition in Thailand, she went on to play events alongside legends such as Sven Väth, before eventually becoming a headline artist in her own right.

Nakadia is now based in Berlin, but remains one of Asia’s most popular DJs, and has one of electronic music’s most unique rags to riches story.

Having to overcome way more than most, Nakadia’s Thai roots meant she also had a lot of cultural obstacles blocking her path to success.

In a statement, Sebastian Lehmann said the book covers the “constant barrage of musical, political, social and sexual prejudice that made it seem, at times, like her career was over.
